It's a shame that one of the early documents of grunge by a band that would soon become one of the biggest names in not only that genre but of the '90s as a whole went out-of-print for nearly 3 decades. This re-release and new mix gives the album new life for not only older fans but also newcomers who have been searching for it for so long. While there some elements that may be missed like the little snippet of Sonic Youth's 'Death Valley '69' in the Howlin' Wolf cover, 'Smokestack Lightning', this is still the definitive way to listen to the first chapter of Soundgarden's career.
